Dr. Okur earned her degree in Neurobiology and Physiology from the University of Maryland, where she was awarded the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship for neuroscience research. She later received her dental degree from the University of Maryland and completed a residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, gaining experience in comprehensive dentistry, facial trauma and emergency care.
